Carver MuseumDistrict Day
The African American Cultural Heritage District is celebrating its history and culture with District Day on Saturday, Oct. 16. This day-long event will be marked by events at nine locations throughout the district. Each site will feature art, entertainment, music and activities that define East Austin. Estilo Communications will be at the Carver Museum helping people fill out Imagine Austin surveys, so be sure to stop by and say hi! HWNT 2Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas Hope Benefit
The Austin Chapter of the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas is hosting its third annual Hope Benefit on Monday, Oct. 25. The event will recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of three college students sponsored by scholarships through the HWNT/Hispanic Scholarship Consortium partnership. The Hope Benefit will address the impact of education in the Hispanic Community, as well as the importance of supporting bright, young college students. The event will take place at Nuevo Leon from 6-8 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit the HWNT website.

MACCDia de los Muertos at MACC
Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center will host its annual Dia de los Muertos celebration on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 3-10 p.m. The event will feature an Ofrenda (altar) exhibit, a custom and classic car show and procession, and sugar skull and face painting activities. Dia de los Muertos will take place at the MACC and is free to the public.

Carver MuseumCelebrate Me
The George Washington Carver Museum is hosting an event about India as a part of its “Celebrate Me” series. It will take place on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 12-4 p.m. in the Carver Drum and Community Gallery. Please visit the Carver Museum website for more information.
